About

The New Zealand Women’s Law Journal — Te Aho Kawe Kaupapa Ture a ngā Wāhine is the only academic publication that is solely dedicated to publishing and supporting the work of women lawyers in New Zealand.

The job was first advertised through the Whitireia course. As my favourite part of the book-making process is typesetting, I immediately applied for it and the editors, Ana and Allanah, accepted.

They gave me a few colour schemes and I began the cover design process, coming up with about six concepts before we narrowed it down to two. After a few more designs based on the chosen two concepts, we then settled on the final version and I began working on the typesetting, providing roughly three different examples of a sample article from heading styles to font sizes.

After everything was finalised, I went on to typeset the entire book, having constant communication with the editors and getting all the files ready for print.

I was also commissioned to design their pull-up banner, as seen in the photo from their launch below.
